First Prey 2 Image Surfaces

The first image from Human Head’s Prey sequel, the imaginatively titled Prey 2, has appeared courtesy of a Game Reactor cover. As you can see from the shot below, it looks like we’re in for something of a departure from the original’s alien spaceship set highjinks. Is that Tommy? Looks like he’s been raiding [insert generic covert ops’ name here] wardrobe.

In other Prey 2 related news, Bethesda has told IGN that the game will not be running on id Tech 5 (id’s new engine, the same technology that drives the upcoming RAGE) when it surfaces in 2012, as Prey 2 started development before the engine was available. Bethesda’s Pete Hines told IGN:

This game has been in development for quite a while and id Tech 5 is still in progress (until Rage ships, and probably even after). So it really wasn’t an option.

  1. ah Gamereactor the best gaming magazine around :) (and it FREE)

  2. Wow, that looks like a bit of a departure from the first, a great game, though one which liberally nicked story ideas from Half Life.

  3. Liked the first game but that image does no favours to the imagination.

  4. Shame I liked the native American thing

  5. Is this one called Prey: Black Ops or something?

    • Aye, was thinking something along the same lines. Please, god, no more special forces games for the entire year, okay?

  6. Not keen on the image. Reminds me of BlOps.

  7. Bethesday is a really good developer IMO, so I expect great things from this game.

    • The eigth day?

    • Bethesda is the publisher. It’s being developed by Human Head, who also developed the first Prey.

  8. Cant wait for Duke Nukem Forever, getting tired of these special forces games!
