Anonymous Bring Down Sony, PSN

Looks like earlier claims from collective Anonymous have come to fruition – several major Sony sites are currently down (looks like a DDoS attack) and the PSN has been, well, intermittent recently. and look like the worse hit, but other sites are apparently targeted.

Sony’s statement regarding the PSN – that it’s “currently undergoing sporadic maintenance” and “access to the PSN may be interrupted throughout the day” seems a little disingenuous, but we’ll wait and see what happens.

Thanks, PlayStation Lifestyle.

  1. Even I’m annoyed… and I don’t annoy easy. If they’re so keen to make the world a better place why don’t they fuck off to the Middle East and try and get them all to be friends? That would be worthwhile… unlike annoying me, grrrrr!

I haven’t played online since January 3rd due to my university blocking the ability to sign-in to PSN over their internet. Now I’ve come home at the start of my 3 week Easter break ready to finally sign in to go all sorts of PSN crazy to find that some bloody T*****S have hacked up Sony because of George bloody Hotz!!

I’m usually a patient man, but this is taking the mick and dammit I wants my AC Brotherhood Platinum Trophy!!! =[

  3. They’re just a bunch of cowards, ” The Anonymous “

  4. This is bad but it serves a purpose.
most of the people doing the attacking actually dont seem to entirely hate Sony, but do have a huge love for destroying something big, hence why Sony is such a easy target.

if these guys are not stupid then they should realse nothing they do will destroy or changes sonys minds.
you can paralyze them for a while but thats it

    • yeah i dont think itll just end here they’ll go even further than just stopping services

  5. Ok getting annoyed now. Who’s with me to nuke these guys’ internet?

that is a video of what they are trying to achieve , dramatic much ?

  7. From the letter they wrote:

“Let Anonymous teach you a few important lessons that your mother forgot: 1. Don’t do it to someone else if you don’t want it to be done to you. 2. Information is free. 3. We own this. Forever.

As for the “judges” and complicit legal entities who have enabled these cowards: You are no better than SONY itself in our eyes and remain guilty of undermining the well-being of the populace and subverting your judicial mandate.”

    1) Ok, so if information is free I demand the Coca-Cola secret recipe, its only information, right, so therefore I should have it!
    2) Bunch of babies crying because the judge didn’t rule their way in court. If you feel you were unjustly accused then appeal it to a higher court, don’t ignore what the court said was illegal and do it anyways.

    • The court hasn’t actually made a ruling yet you know…

      • Let Anonymous teach you a few important lessons that your mother forgot: 1. Don’t do it to someone else if you don’t want it to be done to you. 2. Information is free. 3. We own this. Forever.

        1. Costing a company millions of dollars. Getting revenge on an earlier action by disrupting a service for millions of users. Surely Anonymous are guilty of this. Or don’t the rules count for them.
        2. Agreed, though it is very understandable that not all information should be accessible by the general public.
        3. I’m really annoyed by this one. This is where they portray themselves as rulers of the internet. As a force that will definitely get the last word. Arrogant much?

  8. I normally enjoy watching the aftermath of an Anonymous DDOS attack, I remember one they did on tumblr a while ago which dealt some hilarious results. But now it’s affecting my PSN and I’m not happy, guess it’s pretty douchey of me to only care about these things when they affect me, but oh well.

  9. ahhhhhh so thats why my playstation was completly fucking up today :/
god i hope they get it fixed soon and somehow sort this whole thing out

  10. This just in! The little girls on the corner or your street selling lemonade are only trying to get your money! Its not they’re fault, its just the nature of selling stuff. You should therefore sabotage their lemonade stand!

    • This just in!

      string theory = general relativity
