Hothead has announced that they are developing a game based on The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Not much else has been released, and that includes the platforms the game will be appearing on.
We contacted a Vogon Poet Master for comment, and he had the following to say:
“Oh freddled gruntbuggly, thy micturations are to me, as plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee. Groop I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes. And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles, Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon, see if I don’t!”
We hoped you survived that with all limbs intact.

Could be awesome if done correctly. Hopefully based on the books and not the film. I did like the film but its not a patch on the books.

Actually, if you look into the history, every version of hitchhikers was different and Adams encouraged that. It was a radio play even before the book and then there was a stage play, tv series, computer game, comics and the film.
Manipulating the story is as much a part of hitchhikers as towels or Marvin.

I did know that (but had forgotten) and I always found it interesting that Adams always tried to adapt the story for a new medium.

If they do this, I really hope they get Alan Rickman to do the voice of Marvin. He was fantastic in the film and really pitched the despair of Marvin’s character exactly how I imagined it from the books.
He’s a bit of a legend actually

stephen moore will always be the voice of marvin for me.
my first epxerience of the hitchhikers guide was listening to the audiobooks read by moore when i was at school.
that’s not to say rickman wasn’t good, but when i read the books, it’s moore’s voice i hear when marvin speaks.
so, given the choice, i’d go with moore for marvin, and stephen fry did a great job as the book.
if they really want to please the fans, they’ll get as many of the tv and radio cast for this as they can.
most of the cast play the same characters on tv and radio.
i think trillian was the only character played by a different person on tv and radio.
this has gotten me all nostalgic for the radio series now, gonna have to listen to them again i think.

I just recently watched the movie and loved it. It’s relieving to see that it’s also being developed by Hothead, as they are definitely capable of doing the franchise justice.
