New Screens For Brink ‘Agents of Change’ DLC

Some new screens for Brink’s ‘Agents of Change’ DLC have been released. The pack will be launched early July on LIVE, PSN and Steam, and will be free for the first two weeks. As previously reported, the DLC will contain:

New Maps

  • Founders’ Tower – The revolution finally reaches the island’s iconic spire and takes the battle for the Ark to dizzying heights.
  • Labs – Venture into the depths of the Ark’s original research and development laboratories, a submerged high-tech facility so far untouched by the civil war.

New Player Abilities

  • UAV – This stealthy and lethal device allows Operatives to automatically mark nearby enemies on their radar. For more explosive fun, they can even take direct control of the UAV and detonate it near unsuspecting foes.
  • Napalm Grenade – Soldiers can use this new grenade to cover an area in a sea of deadly flames.
  • Pyro Mine – Engineers can plant these mines and leave enemies in the epicenter of a massive napalm explosion.
  • Field Regen Unit – Medics can deploy these units to increase the health regeneration of any nearby teammates.
  • Tactical Scanner – This universal ability allows players to reveal the active buffs of their opponents, allowing them to pick off enemies more strategically.

New Weapon Attachments

  • Bayonets – Gain the edge in melee combat and cause extra damage with these deadly blades.
  • Weapon Shields – Take cover from enemy fire and prevent headshot bonus damage behind riot-style shields.

New Character Outfits

  • The Sad Punk – Add a touch of Steampunk to your Resistance character.
  • The Limey – Bring order to the Ark with this outfit inspired by traditional European police.

  1. Since TF2 went free to play, I can’t see how this game can last; I keep trying to go back to it, but it’s just not an enjoyable experience – be it lag, bugs, or the unbalanced maps. Loosing my character and progress several times as well, even after the first patches came out, just pushed it that bit too far.

Checking the latest patch information (PC):

“Added unsupported auto-save backup system for advanced users
Can read backup saves by setting “save_readFile” to the desired save”

Can’t work out how to fix the problem so you patch in a dev workaround instead this long after the games release? Classy. The netcode is also still a dogs breakfast, even with the latest patches. There’s less lag on CoD titles, and they don’t have dedicated servers!

I wish I could get a refund; ‘free DLC’ will not save it now.

    • Agreed. Horrible game and easily the biggest disappointment of the year for me. Very glad I rented at the last minute instead of bought it for £40.

  2. was the ark originally a big gay cruise before society collapsed around it or something?

or is there some other reason why there are no women, maybe they all died out like the men in the y the last man series.

that could actually make an interesting storyline element, mankind, pardon the pun, facing it’s own extinction, and they end up fighting over little bits of territory.

that was one of the things i liked most about the children of men movie, how humanity deals with the knowledge about its own imminent extinction, and how it’s powerless to do anything about it.
the hopelessness of that situation was conveyed really well in the movie.

but i suspect the game will remain focused on shooting people and blowing stuff up.
when i say blowing stuff up i’m talking metaphorically of course, because ironically for a developer called splash damage this game features possibly the most ineffectual grenades i think i’ve ever seen in a game. ^_^

  3. This is just what I need to get back into Brink. Looking forward to seeing how the Bayonet and Weapon Shields play out.

  4. Will be interested in how the ‘traditional european police’ look like. I’m hoping for massive death drops on the tower map too. Might be fun

  5. I’ve enjoyed playing Brink and I’m looking forward to this DLC. I’ve not experienced the online problems (bet I will now though).

  6. This DLC might get me back into it, especially as it’s free.
