Sega’s Mystery PS Vita IP Gets A Release Window

A month and a day ago I posted this story which gave some brief details about a brand new mystery I.P. that Sega were developing exclusively for the PS Vita. ‘I personally wouldn’t want to put this project under a genre of any kind,’ said Sega West boss Gary Dunn.

Sega have now posted multiple job adverts for the Sega West PS Vita game which now has the genre of  ‘a unique action adventure’ title.

The bad news is that the adverts also reveal the game is ‘due late 2012’.

  1. Please be PSO2, Please be PSO2

    • don’t know what PSO2 is but a new ip would suggest not.

    • Im guessing you mean Phantasy Star Online 2 but as been mentioned its new IP.

    • I wish they would expand the PSO franchise. Loved episode 1 & 2 to death.

  2. I see, said the three blind mice…

  3. Phantasy Star PORTABLE 3!!!!!

    WOOOOOOO!!!!!! *dies

  4. I wonder if they will try to sneak in a Sonic related thing.;-) I reckon they will annouce it at TGS or Eurogamer this year. Hang on,they have just said action adventure so how can that not be under a genre?O_O

    • Sonic Hunter Freedom Unite? or Sonic Hunter Portable?

I mean add alot of custom hedgehogs, Encidias, Mutant foxes and bats WITH A lot of items to craft then you have a good game that can compete with Monster Hunter. Instead of Monsters it’ll be Eggmans robots then the mega final boss would be CHAOS 7!!!

Its probably a new gameplay style of action adventure… like Prince of Persia SoT pretty much did that and now Uncharted is controversially dubbed the greatest game of this generation?

  5. Does anybody actually read the news story when they click into it or do they just read the title and sub heading? lol

    • Apperently not. I’m just going to type “Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!” next time.

    • Even if they’d only read the title they’d have seen its a new ip. Just madness, I really don’t understand any of these replies. It cannot be phantasy star, or sonic as they are both existing ips. Steven, you say hang on like you just figured that out and it wasn’t written in the article.

Otter Otter Otter Otter Otter Otter Otter Otter mole.

    • Well there is nothing else really? only thing to do is speculate a new Phantasy Star game it seems. Do it Sega, think of the success of PORTABLE 3 IN Japan.

      • But surely you understand that a new IP (intellectual property) means that this is a franchise that doesn’t currently exist. It cannot be a sequel to anything. You cannot speculate about what sequel this might be, as it CANNOT be a sequel.

    • We did read the article but we still want to express our love for the existing franchise which clearly doesn’t get enough love from Sega. Maybe it’s PSO-ish? :P
