Picross Announced For 3DS

DS owners will know about Picross – there’s been loads of versions but that one was the best by far, and the follow-up, Picross 3D was just as addictive.

Well, there’s now a proper sequel coming out onto the Nintendo 3DS’ eShop, although it’s only confirmed for Japan just now.

Looks like it’s going to out on the 27th, from Jupiter, for 500 Yen (about 4 quid) – so let’s all cross our fingers and pray to the conversion gods that we’ll see this little beauty over here.

  1. Erm…
    What is it?

    • Yeah, those screenshots don’t give much away, do they?

      • All I think I know is it’s some kind of puzzle game.

      • I see a carrot, not once have I played a bad game that featured carrots. I want this.

      • You’ve clearly never played Bugs Bunny: Crazy Castle. Stuff of nightmares.

    • It’s a Japanese puzzle game where you build a picture on a blank grid by labelling each square as ‘on’ or ‘off’. It comes from PIcture CROSsword. The numbers on the left and along the top of the grid are the clues to the pattern of the squares that build the picture. Hard to describe but as a puzzle fan I find them quite satisfying.

    • An IGN review of Picross DS is here:

and might explain it a bit better, plus it has pictures!

      • Aha! Now I get it, cheers pal.

  2. i love Picross! brought a ton of magazines from japan, only to have my sister take them over :-D

  3. WTF?

  4. The wifey will go bananas for this bad boy. She basically 100%ed Picross and Picross 3D. Dare not tell her about it until a European release is confirmed. Still she’s got Zelda to tide her over and just befriended Epona and even texted me at work to tell me how proud of herself she was! Bless!

  5. I love picross. *checks android market* Awesome!
