New Champion Jockey Screens

Tecmo Koei have released new screenshots for their upcoming horse ’em up, Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey & Gallop Racer. Let’s be kind and note that they include jockeys, horses and racing and remember that horse racing courses are usually flat and featureless, an aspect they have accurately conveyed.

Champion Jockey is the spiritual successor to the G1 Jockey series, recreating the horse racing world through a variety of immersive races, intuitive gameplay with simple controls. Utilising the latest motion controllers, being a jockey is no longer just a dream. The new standard in horse racing is here!

I would guess that the Wii and PlayStation Move motion control aspect would involving the timely whipping of your beast (steady on!), but what of Kinect? Will you have to crouch in front of your Xbox 360, jig up and down and slap your own backside?

  1. I will be keeping an eye on this, a good horse racing game could be great fun. As long as you can control everything from being the trainer, to the jockey, and then having your bets on race day. As long as it’s in-depth and the racing controls well it could be good.

  2. Trees look okay, clouds are pretty. Jump fences are fuuuuugly. I guess you don’t notice them in that detail as you leap over them though.

    • Im hoping the are Wii shots, but yes those jumps are terrible!

  3. This looks like it could get boring real fast.
