How much do you want Skyrim, a statue of a dragon, a book and a DVD? Do you want that enough to splurge £130 on it?
If you read the above paragraph and thought, “yes, I would quite like those things… oh, yes, I have got a spare £130 and a desire to splurge it.” then good for you, have a look at the picture below. That’s the Skyrim Collector’s Edition, which comes with everything I’ve mentioned.
More likely that you thought “yes, I would quite like those things… OH MY GOD HOW MUCH!?” In which case, consider that the dragon is Alduin, the world eater (apparently) and is a whole twelve inches tall. Still not tempted?
It’s a lot of money to spend on a collector’s edition, although the extra stuff is all quite enticing.
Here’s the full list of extras:
- Alduin, the World Eater Statue. 12 inches of precision-modelled PVC dragon.
- The Art of Skyrim. Official art book with over 200 pages of sketches, models and other assorted artwork from the game.
- The Making of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DVD. A DVD. About making the game.
The collector’s edition is set to be extremely limited and will retail for $149.99/€149.99/£129.99 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
I have to admit, as pricey as this seems, I’m a little bit tempted…

HOW MUCH!? It is good but i flat out refuse to pay that much for a collectors edition of a game. I think this just beats the MW2 CE in terms of price as i think that was £125.I wonder what the Dragon looks like?
Guyers94
Statue is awesome and I think the DVD would actually be pretty interesting, but that really is a lot of money. I’d rather just buy the game and spend the extra money on 3 or 4 other big releases around the same time.

I agree. The DVD looks pretty cool but for £129.99?! Let’s just stick with the normal Skyrim game. You could then buy Uncharted 3 aswell, and possibly MW3!

Why spend money money on two excellent games then the waste the rest on MW3?
Pritchie101
Dammit, I want a world-eating dragon statue in my room! Well, seeing as you get the Making Of DVD, An art book, the full Skyrim game (Obviously) and a world-eating dragon statue, I’m tempted also! But I can’t just cough up £129.99! Life Sucks. . .

No.

It looks good but I’m not interested in a BTS dvd but a official soundtrack!

A hugely ridiculous piece of tat tied to (what is hopefully) a finely tuned video-game for a price seemingly plucked out of chefs hat masquerading as a magician.
Utter madness and if I had a fistful of dirty twenties I was about to burn so they don’t grub the inside of my polished calf-leather wallet, I’d buy it quicker than you can say “Don’t touch that hot plate, Sir Elton!”.

Exactly what I thought, to the word!

All special editions should be judged against The Witcher 2 hard copy special edition. It had an amazing amount of stuff, both digital and physical, and it cost between £70-80.

Or even Batman: Arkham City. £60 at ShopTo.

Yes. No, wait? What did you say the price was? …! And without the dragon? … Aha?… yeah, no. But thanks for the “offer”.

£130? Jog on. As much as I love CE’s, this is far too much for far too little. It’ll likely be reduced soon after release like Crysis 2 Nano Edition was.

i remember spending about 40 quid on the collectors edition of oblivion brand new when it first came out on pc. that came with art books, making of dvd and the soundtrack so no way i’m spending that on this
