After the launch of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS, there’s been clamour for a jazzed up version of the other N64 classic Zelda, Majora’s Mask.
In an interview with GamesRadar, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has outlined that the next step in the Zelda remake chain might skip back a generation to A Link to Past, instead of the rather under-appreciated Majora’s Mask.
“Well actually, even Mr. Miyamoto himself has been talking recently about going back to the 2D Zelda games.
“In particular, the ones that were designed with multiple levels to the world like A Link to the Past, and taking those 2D graphics and recreating them in 3D so that you could get a sense for the depth of those worlds,
“That’s something that might be interesting to do, so I would say there might be a possibility of something like that in the future.”
3D remake of A Link to the Past has the potential to be amazing – at least it’d require more effort to make than a Majora’s Mask update, right guys?
