“Full Scale” South Park RPG Announced for PS3/Xbox 360

The January cover for Game Informer has been revealed, and it looks like gamers are in for a trip to South Park! Written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who have collaborated with THQ and Obsidian, South Park: The Game has been touted as a “full scale” RPG for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

“As the new kid in South Park, it’ll be up to you to make friends and defend the town from a wide range of threats.”

Heck, as long as you can still fire chickens from a bow then count me in.

  1. There better be an Imaginationland area in the game.

Will keep an eye on this.

    • and Casabonita!

    • I hope there’s an “Ants In Your Pants” mini-game too!

  2. Haha, man that PS1 South Park game was pretty rubbish. Surely South Park isn’t really deep enough to have a ‘full scale’ RPG. Interesting that Trey and Matt have written it though. I’ll have to keep an eye on it.

    • The Simpsons managed to do it, and South Park does have a similar kind of world, so why not? Plus, Obsidian have a pretty good history with Fallout: New Vegas, so I don’t see why they couldn’t pull it off.

  3. An RPG??

Seems a strange subject matter to base an RPG around, but then i guess its no weirder than a karting game or an FPS!!

  4. Could be fab. Actually quite liked the N64 FPS.

  5. BEST. NEWS. EVER

  6. Yes. Now I have to go home and watch every episode of SP so that I get every inevitable joke.

    • And you’ll love it in the process! Want to borrow all of my boxsets? :P

      • There are some websites you can stream them from for free, I normally watch them while I’m at school. take advantage of the fast internet :P

      • Actually you can stream all episodes on the official homepage. Can’t wait to get more info on this game.

      • the official website wont stream outside the us will it?

      • It did last year but then they locked out Germany and referred to the official German site. The great thing: The German site also has all episodes ready for streaming and you can watch the brand new episode as soon as it aired in the US and the episode is in english. Other series/channels should take note. It’s brilliant.

  7. i wonder if the final boss will be mecha streisand. ^_^

  8. Skyrim who?

  9. Seems a bit of an odd choice to make. I mean, South Park doesn’t excalty scream “make me an RPG”. I don’t really like South Park so chances are that i won’t pay this any interest. It will be interesting to see what the fans think.

  10. How many series have they made now? I’m not sure but know there’s plenty of material to draw on!

    • i think they’re up to about 13 or 14 now.

and they have a HUGE cast of characters to draw upon.
      and plenty of storylines.
a bit based on the fun with weapons episode could be cool.

      • A bit based on the World of Warcraft one could be pretty clever too.

      • Season 15 just finished airing on Comedy Central (at least I think it finished). Great episodes even this long after the originals

      • I think they got renewed until their 20th season in advance, too.

    • Yeah, loads, more than enough for an rpg. should be hilarious
