Ukrainian news site UkraNews is reporting that GSC Game World, the developer behind popular post-nuclear shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R is in the process of closing its doors.
The studio, composed of 40-50 employees, has yet to release an official statement though numerous sources are suggesting the reason for GSC’s closure is due personal issues surrounding GSC owner, Sergei Grigorovich. Some claim that Grigorovich is dissatisfied with S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 development, any allegation being that Ukranian law enforcement is trying to impede the developer’s progress.
Expect a response from GSC in the coming days. Currently the studio is offering no comment on the situation, conflicting messages from the company’s official Twitter account adding only more confusion.

Odd to say this, my mother loved Cossaks. It was really good to be fair. I never played stalker though, if it’s the same quality then that would be good too. Sad another studio is closing :(

Ah, that’s a shame. I quite enjoyed STALKER and will never forget entering the reactor. One of the most haunting moments in video gaming (for me).
