Pokémon/Tecmo Koei Crossover Revealed

The Pokémon Company and Tecmo Koei are teaming up to bring Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition to the Nintendo DS next year. Nobunaga’s Ambition is a turn-based strategy RPG series taking place in feudal Japan. It looks like players will be using the Pokémon to battle in an effort to take over Japan.

  1. Must admit….didn’t see that one coming

  2. What the…awesome!

  3. Need to…play this game!

  4. Gotta conquer Kyoto…. Pokemon!

Not like a person that as played Pokemon…. but its interesting

  5. Aw, I had visions of a Pokemon/Dynasty Warriors hybrid!

  6. Interesting. Given its got Pokemon in the title my brother-in-law will no doubt pick it up lol

  7. my first thought was, “tecmo getting their hands on Misty. that cannot be good”

then i watched the video, and that actually looks like a pretty cool game.
like the tactics style RPGs, and i just love those type of games.

it’s just a shame nintendo can’t try changing the formula up a bit like this game has, instead preferring to stick with almost exactly what they’ve been doing for the last decade or so.

if if wasn’t for the quality of the main titles i don’t think they’d be able to get away with it.
anyway, i hope this sees an eu release, but these crossover games often never see the light of day outside japan, not officially at least.

i know the 3ds is region locked but is the ds?
because this looks like something i’d like to play.

    • DS is region free. Also, the Nobunaga’s Ambition games have apparently been released in the US, so hopefully this will at least make it there so we can import it in English.

  8. WHAT?! o_o

  9. It sort of looks like the mystery dungeon games they did a long time ago
