Sniper: Ghost Warrior Has Sold 2 Million Copies

Polish firm City Interactive has recently announced that multiplatform stealth shooter, Sniper: Ghost Warrior, has hit the 2 million milestone. It’s a surprising figure, especially when you take into account that it’s a fresh IP from a fairly unknown developer/publisher, not to mention the mixed critical reception.

We reviewed the game back in August and although the core gameplay was enjoyable Ghost Warrior fell short in other areas, notably the enemy AI and online multiplayer.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is expected to launch next year for Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows with City Interactive also busy developing promising WWII shooter, Enemy Front.

  1. The trailer for V2 looks great. I am hoping to give it a try sometime

  2. I really wanted to pick this up, but was worried that it was going to suffer from Singularity-syndrome (where a game is impressive in single player but you cant get a game online for love nor money) but these figures give me hope. Might pick it up.

    • There’s still quite a lot of people playing it today, and you can pick it up for crazy cheap at the minute. I suggest buying it, or at least renting it.

      • Can’t find it for rent nowhere.

  3. I hope the second is better, the first sounded interesting, but the flaws meant it was a no go. The MP did actually sound refreshingly different too. Only snipers, stealth based.

  4. I wasn’t impressed by it really, I didn’t make it through the first level because my eyes hurt, stupid AI and awful game engine. Happy to see City Interactive succeed though and the second one will be better. But, it still won’t match Sniper Elite 2.
