BioShock 2 Coming To Mac

Feral Interactive, publisher for Mac, has announced that Bioshock 2 will be released on Mac in January 2012.

The Mac version of BioShock 2 will include a separate multiplayer game called ‘The Fall of Rapture,’ which is set prior to the events of the original BioShock. This multiplayer mode focuses on the civil war that led to the downfall of Rapture and players will be playing the role of the mutated test subjects.

David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive, said, “BioShock 2 shows Rapture in a completely new light. By allowing players to be a Big Daddy, it explores the emotional consequences of the Rapture project.”

BioShock 2 for Mac will be priced at £24.95 in the UK,  €29.95 in Europe and $34.95 in North America.

If you’ve never played BioShock 2, why not take a trip into the past and read Peter’s review.

  1. So basically the Mac version is the same as every other version?

    • Yup – ‘The fall of rapture’ was the multiplayer mode in every other version of the game too.

      • I know- I really enjoyed it! :P
It just seemed a strange way to write it…

  2. Good old Feral. I do like those guys. Always doing their damnedest to bring good games to the mac, old and new… Well, relatively new, anyway.

  3. Good news for Mac owners I guess, though I found Bioshock2 absolutely terrible, especially when compared to the original.

  4. Excellent. I look forward to when it’s 80% off on steam and I buy it for a fiver (or less).

    • Ha ha, exactly! I have 5 games on steam, three were free, and the other two cost £7 combined. Such a cheapskate…

    • Feral’s games are licensed for and published by themselves, and currently they do not have agreements with the original publishers to do the necessary revenue sharing deal to get the mac ports that they do onto Steam.

So, right now you’ll not see Feral ported games show up as SteamPlay titles.
