Epic Mickey 2 Coming to PS3 & Xbox 360?

A newsletter from Disney D23, the official House of Mouse fan club, has reportedly confirmed Epic Mickey 2 is in production and it will be multi platform.

The newsletter has since been removed but Game Informer grabbed the text before it vanished and it revealed the game will have co-op.

Disney Epic Mickey 2 is the latest game in the critically acclaimed Disney Epic Mickey videogame series. In this all-new action-platforming game available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii.

Mickey embarks on an epic journey and is pulled back into a world filled with Disney’s forgotten characters.

Players can choose to play single-player as Mickey or for the first time players can also choose 2-player split screen mode.

In the 2 player mode one person can play as Mickey wielding magic paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world and the second player can play as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit – Walt Disney’s first cartoon star – with the power to fly like a helicopter and use electricity to fight or friend enemies and solve challenges.

Team-up and choose your path to save this forgotten world because the choices you make will alter the story and change the end of the game!

  1. Heard that while a little rough in places, the original was well worth a few sessions on the Wii. I would be keen to play EM2 though would like to see a PS3/Move-compatible port of the first title.

  2. Judging by the poor sales of Rayman Origins, people aren’t interested in 2D platformers anymore. Presuming that’s what the sequel will be

    • I’m hoping the first poor figures for RO were just a sign that many of us were expecting to get it for christmas.
      Which I did, woohoo!

  3. Hope we get move compatible em1 thrown in too ;-)

  4. “and Wii”? Not Wii U? That’s rather strange.

  5. Great news. I was hoping to see the first one on the PS3. Split screen coop is also a win.

  6. I have enjoyed what I’ve played of the original, would definitely pick up a PS3 sequel!
