Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Release Date Announced

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D for Nintendo 3DS will release March 8th 2012.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D was first announced back in 2010. Konami has outlined how the game will utilise the 3DS including having the inventory screen present on the bottom screen.

However, possibly the most interesting feature is the camoflauge photography system which will allow users to “take a picture of real-life items and create a camo suit based on them.” The effectiveness of these camo suits will depend on how well they blend into the game’s environment.

MGS: Snake Eater 3D will also support gyro synchronisation, to navigate the environment and Circle Pad Pro compatibility to simplify targeting enemies. This version also introduces over the shoulder and first person camera modes. News regarding the bundle pack is yet to be shared.

  1. Or you can get more for your money with the Metal Gear HD collection which inlcudes 3 games including this.

    • Pfft so what.. its 3Dee, HD is last gen dude.

    • im half expecting this to be on the Vita so ill hold off

      • I’m certain that the HD collection has been announced for Vita already, along with the ability to share PS3 and PS Vita save files. I think they call the system ‘trans-farring.’ (sic)

      • It’s Transfarring. Without the hyphen.

      • Is it?
I’m too annoyed about the spelling.
Either way, IT’S JUST WRONG KOJIMA!!!

  2. Will be getting this but probably after the inevitable price drop and I’m finished saving up for the Wii U. Never played MGS3 so I’m really looking forward to it.

  3. Having played an early version of this at a press event, the camera controls were bloody awful, so an investment in the Circle Pad might not be a bad idea for this.

If anyone’s played Peace Walker or other Metal Gear games on PSP, the camera control is essentially the same. I did learn to live with said controls on the PSP, so who knows, maybe no need for them for this either.

    • Peace Walker was playable if you strafed alot, the right stick on the PS3 totally makes it an overkill, should work good on the Vita too.
