Aliens: Colonial Marines Slips AGAIN

In December 2006 Gearbox and Sega announced that they were working on a brand new Aliens game, having picked up the license earlier in the year.

The game was officially announced in February 2008 and has continually been delayed until a firm release date of spring 2012 was announced.

The official Colonial Marines web site now lists the game as autumn 2012 which, by my count, means Gearbox has been tinkering with the game for nigh on eight years. They could probably have built a fully operational replica of Nostromo in that time.

  1. really again you could have made the props figures and movies in the time it has taken to make this game oh yeah please dont add a another 6 pack type of trophy in there!!!!!!!

  2. Gearbox, you don’t need to try and outdo DNF’s development cycle. ;)

I keep forgetting this exists. I wonder if it’s legal issues that are delaying it?

  3. just enough time to fit in some avp sessions before realease day NOT!

  4. Not again! Getting me a little worried now! :(

  5. Is there a separate development team within Gearbox working on this game?

This game was announced in 2006 but within that time, Gearbox released Borderlands and Duke Nukem Forever. Not to mention that Borderlands 2 and another Brothers in Arms game is in development.

  6. Gutted, the recent trailers have shown a lot of promise. Ever the eternal optimist, I was wondering if they have shifted it away from releasing at the same time as something similar maybe?
