Yet More Scheduled Maintenance

Sony has published another post detailing more maintenance. However, it’s not too bad this time. There should be minimum disruption to the PSN, with only the following titles maybe being affected.

  • Blast Factor
  • Combat Ops
  • Flow
  • SOCOM: Fire Team Bravo 3
  • Logan’s Shadow
  • LittleBigPlanet Karting (Who is the lucky bugger playing this then?)
  • MAG
  • MLB 12
  • MotorStorm
  • Pain
  • Resistance: gs
  • Resistance PSP
  • SOCOM 4
  • SOCOM: Confrontation
  • SOCOM: Tactics
  • Starhawk
  • Twisted Metal
  • Warhawk
  • White Knight Chronicles

Rather strange to see LBP karting or do you lot know something I don’t? We should assume they mean LittleBigPlanet and its sequel instead. Looks like it’s just the first party stuff, maybe we’re getting better servers?

The maintenance is scheduled for 3rd of May (this Thursday) between 05:00 and 11:00BST.

  1. Motorstorm ? I thought the servers were closed last year.

    • Actually, you raise a good point – I seem to recall reading that news…

  2. Ah, isn’t that just Sony first party title servers then? So not PSN maintenance at all then? :P

& as for LBP Karting, i would presume it is being tested at the moment. A cautionary note to say that the servers won’t be available for testing on that day?

  3. LBP Karting ooohhhh Forrest might be right though!
Just glad it has been mentioned and even set a date AND a reason for it.
Well I probably would be play BF3 on that day =D

  4. Saturday night i could not play uc3 due to this crap. Is it any wonder people move to 360.

I would rather they charge for online instead of this.

    • Nothing better than paying and seeing adverts is there :P

      • Better then not being able to play at all.

      • I agree with this, its becoming a joke now. I would rather pay and not be disrupted be constant maintenance.

      • Hang on… Saturday night?? There wasn’t any scheduled maintenance on Saturday.

I would suggest you hit a period of unscheduled maintenance just for that one game (as i certainly had no issues playing Driver online on Saturday), or that you weren’t connecting properly for some reason (which can also on occasion give the maintenance message).

I agree that there is way too much maintenance, which generally goes on way too long, they give away far too little about what it is required for & give far too little notice about when it’s happening… But i don’t think you can blame your Saturday experience on that tbh.

  5. I know WipEout 2048 isn’t on the list but the servers have been pretty bad the last week or so, with lots of disconnections, so I wonder if its related? Either way I hope there are improvements.

  6. The truth is that if you don’t read the articles about PSN then you prob wouldn’t notice. A lot of the time it makes no difference.

Oh and people aren’t jumping to 360. Actually due to its poor amount of exclusives and Sony releasing quality titles, a lot of people are dropping 360.

  7. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue as I’m not currently playing any of the games listed. The early morning timing is slightly more appreciated though.

  8. See, not too fussed now as that’s a good few days notice there.

  9. Shouldn’t this feature be up on Thursday? As it’s usually up most thursdays. ;)

SCEE, oh feck it, i give up with you. How hard is it to get the teaboy to write a post on the blog a few days before?

  10. This not PSN maintenance, as it affects nothing more than a handful of titles, not the network itself.

As far as i can see, you should only be concerned if you happened to be gearing up to play one of the titles above on the specific date given above, between the specific times given above.

Possible of course, but i don’t think it will affect many people if i am honest (not from the sounds of this anyway).
