Tomb Raider Delayed To Next Year

Crystal Dynamics‘ reboot of Tomb Raider has been delayed until 2013.

As reported on their official blog, studio head Darrell Gallagher says the developers need “additional development time.”

“Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months,” he said.

“We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait,” he added. “The game is looking amazing and we can’t wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.”

Presumably Lara Croft was a wee bit nervous about this year’s big hitters.

  1. Shame, but at least I’ve got it on pre-order from The Hut for a bargain price, plenty to play until then.

  2. I am looking forward to this game, I already thought it was coming out in 2013.

  3. I was thinking about how little we’d heard from it recently, sad to see it slip

  4. Im happy with this news with all the major games already confrmed for the Holiday season and who knows what will get announced at E3

  5. That makes the count to 2 “confirmed” titles being pushed back to next year. I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that Dishonored an Resident Evil 6 will be pushed back to next year.

  6. Shame. I am really looking forward to it. It’s a busy Q4 so first half of next year sounds better.

  7. This and Bioshock Infinite getting delayed has done me a favour tbh!
