Uncharted 3 Update Launches Next Month, Adds 50 Trophies

Over at Naughty Dog the Uncharted 3 team are currently talking up their latest game update, 1.13. Launching on August 14th, the patch will usher in a number of general gameplay fixes (listed below) as well as “an exciting new system” and “fresh DLC.”

Gameplay Changes

  • Increased recoil has been added to the G-MAL
  • Deathmatch will now appear in round 5 instead of round 3 in Team Objective game modes
  • Quitting out of Co-op will no longer count as a Competitive loss when signing-out/disconnecting
  • Lab games no longer count towards the Leaderboard
  • Death from Above medal now requires the player to be at least 2 meters off the ground
  • Players can earn more than 1 “Here, Hold This Medal” in a match
  • A collection of trophies have been added for each DLC pack available
  • The TAU Sniper Pistol has been tuned so the rate of fire is up 30% and its starting ammo is now 8 not 12
  • The M9 blindfire accuracy has been reduced by 10% efficiency
  • Cloaked level 3 is now immune to the effects of Disruption (it wasn’t working properly so we fixed it)

The acclaimed developer also announced that 1.13 will introduce a staggering total of 50 new trophies to the multiplayer experience. As expected, these will be portioned into separate lots, dedicated to the game’s diverse spread of downloadable content.

  1. I haven’t played this since I platinumed it. I always found the multiplayer was too hard, I got pwned a lot, far more than in U2. Maybe I should try again and stop being such a pussy

    • Join one of the meets every Saturday at 7pm. We can all be terrible together.

      • Yeah man, just last weekend I joined in just in time to hinder them all. But we kicked ass in co-op :p

    • Same – I lost a bit of interest since people had either played U2’s multiplayer, or I was with people on very high levels. It’s a bit demoralizing getting your arse handed to you every 10 seconds. They’ve potentially lost DLC sales from me due to this, cos otherwise it’s actually rather good.

      • But that is most online games, you just gotta stick with it. Then eventually you’ll get better.

      • Well then perhaps I’m just particularly bad at U3, cos I’m not quite as terrible at other games ;)

      • Then join a meet if you can, it is much easier to stick to if you’ve got people with you.

      • I’ve often thought about joining the Meet actually, however Saturday nights are no good for me….Friday or Sunday on the other hand are good!

    • I thought Uncharted 2 was harder.

Maybe because I was in the U3 beta…

  2. Shame they’ve added such a large number of trophies for people who aren’t interested in the multiplayer – I think it looks odd having a Platinum yet only around 50% of the trophies! Great news for the people who do, obviously.

    • Yeah, i was thinking that – I don’t think i have ever seen so many DLC trophies added to a game & as the original shipped with around 55 trophies (which was kinda weird in istelf mind you), that would effectively reduce a platinum percentage to around the 50-60% mark (depending on weighting of course)!

      • The only other game that springs to mind with so many trophies added after release is Burnout Paradise….they were so close to 100 trophies after all of the DLC was released. I bought all of the DLC and got the game to 100% trophies of course :)

      • Yup – similar to Fallout 3. I had only 53% when the DLC came out, despite having the Plat. No doubt I’ll get slammed for saying this but I actually think that’s too many trophies for DLC considering it came out in November 2012 (I think)?! Some games don’t have 50 trophies in their entirety. I guess they’re trying to get people to play it again, but I’m not that much of a trophy whore.

      • *2011 obviously, Sadly I don’t time travel, yet, although it would be my prefered past-time, literally.

  3. Love the support Naughty Dog give their titles! This is how developers should do it, not just release and forget. Nice one ND and cheers :-)

  4. Really looking forward to this. Since the latest map pack, I haven’t really had a chance to get back into Uncharted 3.

  5. I’m sick of this [email protected], it seem’s every time i get used to a gun like the fal, Like when they Increases the number of hits it takes to put some one down from 4 bullets to 5! So i moved on to the g-mal. now their messing with my recoil! I blam this crap on noobs complaining that their dieing all the time. YOUR A NOOB YOU WILL DIE A LOT on any new multiplayer but put the time in and you will GET BETTER! I was crap when i started this game now i understand how to use my weapons and kickbacks to best of my abilty. To add tropheys at this late stage into the game?? Never mind tweeking the weapon and giving us more trophys what about letting use find the tresures we need instead of me putting hundreds of hours into this game and still not getting the tresures we want!.

There said it, i feel much better now :)

    • I do think it’s strange to add trophies and modify weapons so long after release. Some will say it’s good support, but perhaps it should have been done sooner. I’d be pissed if I wanted to get the trophies and had already spent many hours in multiplayer. As with U2, I can’t imagine they’ll be retro-activated.

      • absolutely Youles. Maybe i was being a little harsh on new players in my previous comments when actually its naughty dogs match making thats to blame, considering they put new players in with pro’s all the time. is it any wonder they complain or leave never to return again .

      • I can certainly see your frustration – balancing 8 or so month after release not only means the weapon’s you’ve got used to have now changed, but as you say, for so long people will have been on the abused end of these unbalanced weapons/perks. Just surprised it wasn’t done sooner to avoid noobs (such as myself) from getting frustrated (also with the match making) and leaving the multiplayer altogether. I think Black Ops had a good system when people upto level 1-10 (I think) could only play in the “recruit” game mode/lobby. Once you reached level 10 the other lobbies and game modes opened up.

      • I can’t tell you the amount of times a group of five rank 75’s, 4th legacy been thrown in with another group of five ranks between 1 and 30, 1st legacy. well we all know how that match ended and It’s a real shame that a lot of new players will not return after a match like that. this is probably my favourite multiplayer ever and anyone on the fence should give it another go.

  6. The mp & co-op on this are great fun with mates! Had a disconnect last night too so that fix is very welcome

  7. I’ve heard that the Multiplayer is almost as hard as MGO in this game? If this is so could somebody confirm? I’m looking at buying all the Uncharted games and a nice, difficult, ultiplayer challenge might seal the deal.

    • It can be quite hard when going up against high level players.

    • No way near as complex as MGO, though.
