New Gran Turismo 5 DLC Next Week

Next week, on the same day as Sony release the GT Academy Edition of GT5, the game will get a further batch of DLC and an update to the actual game.

The DLC will include some new cars, the SUBARU BRZ S ’12, the Honda Weider HSV-010 (SUPER GT) ’11 and the gorgeous Nissan GT-R N24 GT Academy ’12.

The update, version 2.08, will introduce the following new features:

  • Now possible to select “Disable collisions” in the [Event Settings] of online races.
  • IDs are now shown above cars when watching online races.
  • Response of the clutch pedal when using the steering wheel controllers “G25 Racing Wheel”, “G27 Racing Wheel”, “T500RS” and “TH8RS” has been adjusted.
  • Rate of tire wear in endurance races has been slowed (excluding formula cars).
  • Amount of air resistance change when altering aerodynamic wing settings has been increased.
  • Autopilot has been adjusted to prevent colliding with the wall when exiting the pit lane on the Tsukuba circuit.
  • Adjusted the changes in control characteristic when altering vehicle height from standard height. (Vehicle height can be changed by adjusting ride height, either by installing a suspension kit or adjusting a full customizable suspension kit.)

Speaking of GT5, have you read our GT5 report from a real GTR?

  1. ffffffffffff

  2. going to buy this version trade my original.

    • Spotted this version for 15 quid in places. May be worth picking up instead of buying individual dlc

  3. Haven’t really played in ages, won’t buy this DLC due the somewhat long periods between each DLC pack.

  4. Due next week. Out in two months.

  5. If only they’d restore the ability for only the host to need the DLC tracks that they took away on the quiet with the 2.04 update I might be more inclined to get back to playing it. That felt like a cheap shot and left me with ill feelings towards GT5.

  6. Hmm i have not bought a single DLC. So is it worth to trade in my original copy and just buy GT5 academy edition instead?

    • I’m thinking this. Might tap up the local Game and see what the trade in is worth.
All the current DLCs must come to more than £15, surely?

    • Definately worthwile, even if you only got a fiver for your original game, the new game includes everything that I’ve probably paid around £50 for, so if you can pick all of that up for around £15 minus the £5 trade in then it’s a steal ;)
*GAME might charge £40 so it’ll be a shop around job* :P

  7. Haven’t played GT5 for a while, will have to fire it up to see what I’ve missed.

  8. Only thing missing from the academy edition is the Motegi track I think? Could be wrong ;)
As for only the host having the DLC, can’t see the issue, you don’t get that argument with CoD or BF3 players? ;)

    • It’s just that they had the feature there, and then they back tracked. Same with Linux on PS3, etc. etc. etc.

You don’t miss what you never had. (Unless it’s cross game chat)

  9. Soo… still no Premium Zonda

    meh

  10. Been wanting the HSV in GT for aaages. Really looking forward to some new SuperGT action. Yo.

    • Agreed. the Super GTs are great race cars and looking forward to trying an all new car.
The Subaru looks exactly like the GT86! I thought they might change it a little! (I won’t even get started on the GT-R…)

      • Not sure if serious.

      • I’m serious about the BRZ looking like Toyota’s GT86.
As for the GT-R, they gave away a free N24 version not to long ago.
So out of the three cars coming out, only one is new to me!

      • Lol they’re the EXACT same car in real life.

I’d still buy the Subaru over the Toyota though.
