UK Charts: Week Ending 6th October

Resident Evil 6 has failed to topple the mighty FIFA 13 from the top of the chart but does make a respectable debut at number two, Borderlands II dropping down to number three as a result.

Another gaming juggernaut, Just Dance, returns at number four and NBA 2K13 enters at number six.

Rocksmith holds on at number 7 so there must be a suprsingly large amount of gamers who want to play the guitar.

  1. Ooh, i am intrigued by that Rocksmith game, but i never got round to playing it at Eurovision.

Is it possible to use your own electric guitar with it? Or is the game not made for that, and instead wants you to splash out a hundred or more on a fake?

    • LOL! Eurovision! God that made me laugh. That’s what you get for not concentrating :p

    • It comes with an adapter so you can use any electric guitar. I’m tempted by it too, i was never interested in the rhythm-action games that preceded it but Rocksmith looks like an engaging and accessible way to learn a few songs. I think i’ll probably need a hands-on before i make up my mind though.

      • Aah, that’s a lot more tempting then. I gave up guitar years ago as i ended up with way too many hobbies, but that might be very fun to try out. Although my fingers are all soft as butter now, so it’s gonna be a while before i can get them hard again!

      • @Louise Yup, any guitar will do, even an acoustic guitar with an electric pick up added to it. It doesn’t really matter about the quality of guitar as it’s the game that generates the many amp and effects pedal sounds….as long as the guitar can be tuned!
I’m using my USA Les Paul Standard but any cheap guitar would do the job just as well. ;)

    • How many more guitar based games will continue to exclude Progressive in the main disc playlist its getting ridiculous.

  2. Surprised to see Rocksmith in the charts at all to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, it looks great but it sort of appeared out of nowhere in the end. Plus I would have thought the £55 price tag would have put most people off.

Great to see RE6 riding high in the charts. Aside from Sleeping Dogs and possibly RE:Revelations (can’t make my mind up which I prefer) its probably my game of the year thus far. Granted I haven’t played finished verisons of Dishonored, Borderlands2 or Far Cry 3 yet mind you.

    • 2012 certainly is to be packed with plenty of gems before Xmas.

    • The £55 price tag which can be £49.99 @ Amazon includes the guitar lead £19.99 (if bought seperately), the Bass guitar game add on (the US had to pay an extra $29.99 for this) and of course the Rocksmith guitar game/utility.
So it is very good value really when the price is broken down and worked out ;)

  3. two games that aren’t direct sequels, one one almost sequel and one new game, no doubt the first of a long series if it sells well, that’s two more than usual isn’t it? ^_^
