February’s PlayStation Plus Games Revealed

Next month’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection content has been revealed today, and it’s another solid month for the service which continues to grow and grow each month, especially with regards to the ‘free’ games that are included with the rather nominal fee.

This month there are five titles to choose from, although – of course – you can just grab them all.

On the PS Vita are two games that we’d definitely recommend – Lumines and Wipeout 2048. The first scored a solid 8/10 in our review, as did WipEout 2048, which is a superb near-future racer with the best engine sound effects ever created.

Over on the PS3 it’s a trio of new stuff – F1 Race Stars (a healthy enough 6/10), the puzzler Quantum Conundrum and the rather brilliant Sleeping Dogs.

PlayStation 3:

  • F1 Race Stars – 6th February
  • Sleeping Dogs – 6th February
  • Quantum Conundrum – 6th February

PlayStation Vita:

  • WipEout 2048 – 13th February
  • Lumines – 20th February

The new games will be available to subscribers from 6th February. At that point Plus will also be 30% off on the 90 day membership, a deal which is available until the 20th. People already subscribing can use this promo to ‘stack’ their subscription, too.

There’s easily enough gaming there for the whole month, especially if you own both consoles. We’d be very keen to know how Sony are going to keep this momentum going next generation, as there simply won’t be the big library of back catalogue titles on the PS4 for some time. Perhaps Plus will be more about services (remember Gaikai) than games.

  1. Awesome, I nearly bought Sleeping Dogs and QC, and would like both! I love you PS+!

  2. I agree PS+ is a great service, although I already have sleeping dogs and wipeout.
What’s coming for ps3 mid February?

    • I’ll have the free Sleeping Dogs and sell my hard copy for a few quid. I can’t see a time where I’d come off the plus service now.

My old console died at the weekend and having now got a slim the cloud saves were invaluable.

      • I recently Platinumed Sleeping Dogs, so have no need for it except the Nightmare DLC, just to get my Trophies up to 100% though :p
I agree, cloud saves have come to my rescue already, and helped with my transition to a 1TB HDD I now have in my PS3 :)

  3. That Vita duo is incredible.

I own Wipeout (free download with 3G Vita) and Lumines already (on cart, will be traded in) but you can’t really complain when they’re offering stuff like that.

Quantum Conundrum, Sleeping Dogs and F1 Race Stars will be warmly received as well on PS3.

    Great haul this month!

  4. Wow, every month i am more and more impressed with plus. Being a VITA owner as well, for me its the best value service out there. It makes Live Gold look like a total rip off and then some.

  5. Interesting you mention Gaikai, my hope is that they use it to stream PS1/PS2 games that don’t need huge bandwidth for hi-def graphics and charge that as part of PS Plus.
After my trusty old PS3 phat died at the weekend I’ve got nothing to play my old PS2 games on now. Not that I played many ps2 games anyhow.

Awesome game choice for plus as well.

  6. PS3 + PS Plus in Europe = Delayed Games, No Cross game chat, regular network outages, but at least 3 quality games a month, cloud saves, auto-patching and online gaming.

How can Microsoft still justify the cost of LIVE?

    • I don’t know how Sony do it sometimes. It is understandable with Sony titles like Wipeout and Uncharted, but Sleeping Dogs… wow. And there was me thinking Steam were giving it away.

  7. Great update. Sold wipeOut a few months ago in the hope it will come to PS plus. Hopefully is may rekindle the leader boards too. Can’t wait to pick up where I left off on the HD DLC. Awesome stuff. Thank heavens I bought a 16 gig card.

  8. Wasn’t that impressed with the demo of F1 Race Stars but as it’s free I think I’ll give the full game a go.

  9. Eek! Time for that 1tb hdd I promised my ps3 ;)

  10. YES! I already own Sleeping Dogs. But WIPEOUT is FREE! I knew that day would come. Man what a great month that will be free games plus Aliens I am so looking forward to next week!
