Namco Bandai’s arena tank battler is going to be free to download on Nintendo’s eShop. The launch title, which was cheaper than most at the time (I paid £25 on launch day) will arrive on the eShop this week. You’ll be able to play any of the three available modes (Monster Battle, Team Versus and Free-For-All) up to three times per day for free.
It’s not entirely given up for nothing though. There’s an “add-on” pack, available for £1.59/€1.99, which adds one of the most appealing gameplay modes – the multiplayer My Kong mode. That’s a discount price too, it will rise to £7.99/€9.99. Other add-on packs are set to be available, according to an oddly-worded listing, adding more of the game’s features at a range of prices from £1.59 to £7.99.
Purchasing any of the add-ons will unlock the free daily play restriction too, so you’ll be able to play all the free and unlocked modes as often as you’d like.

Sounds good! I wanted to try this but thought it looked more like a downloadable title from the beginning – smart move by Namco!
