Dead Space 3’s Awakened DLC Coming Next Week

The first wave of post-launch DLC is on the way for Dead Space 3. It will feature single player and co-op play, new weapon parts and circuits to collect and will be set aside from the main storyline.

The DLC, titled as Awakened, is set immediately after the events of the game – so avoid reading on if you’re sensitive to spoilers.

The extra content, said to span several hours, follows Clarke and Carver as they attempt to find a way off Tau Volantis. They visit a new setting on one of the abandoned ships overhead and encounter unitologist survivors who are intent on keeping the necromorph virus alive – with grotesque means.

According to a write up from Polygon, the new content should be more popular among the Dead Space fans who lament the loss of some of the more horror-focused elements of the game. It’s due out next week for 800MSP or $9.99.

Here’s a trailer for the DLC:

  1. Yay, I can’t wait. The more Dead Space, the better :)
But was it really necessary to shoehorn “microtransaction” into the sub-headline? Sure, it was a stupid idea from EA to integrate optional microtransactions into a title like Dead Space 3, but it’s really sad, that this is the only thing people see when they look at the game. Please remember that in addition to the microtransactions, there’s also an absolutly brilliant game.

    • looking forward to this as well yog more co-op.
