Vita JRPG “Mind Zero” Announced

Acquire and Zerodiv, the makers of Class of Heroes, have announced an upcoming JRPG for PlayStation Vita. It’s based in a school, features two worlds – a normal one and a mental one – and players can use MIND (Mental Inside Nobody Doll) powers to summon a supernatural projection.

This all sounds very much like Persona to me but that might just be because Persona is the most prominent example of this sub genre of RPGs.

It’s set in Japan, starting at the Saitama Prefecture school but taking in scenes around famous areas of Tokyo such as Akihabara and in cities like Yokohama. There are 3D battles, fully voiced scenes and 2D conversation sections.

Apparently it’s 70 per cent complete and should be out in Japan this summer. Hopefully the success of Persona 4 Golden in the west should encourage the developers and publishers to bring more games like this to our shores.

  1. It sounds a lot like a Persona game. Even the characters look very similar.

  2. gotta love it when they create the acronym first then work out what words fit it, whether they make any kind of sense or not. ^_^

still, sounds interesting, maybe i’ll even have a Vita by the time it gets a western release.

  3. I can smell the lawsuit.

  4. Another JRPG set in a school? This better have some unique trait to stand out from the crowd. I hope it turns out great.

More support for the Vita is always good.

  5. I’d be interested in this if it made it to the west – the Persona games are excellent, so it’d be interesting to see what differences this game would have.
