Jak and Daxter Trilogy for PS Vita Confirmed

The PlayStation Blog has confirmed rumours that have persisted for a few weeks now. Jak and Daxter Trilogy is coming to PlayStation Vita this June. The bundle will consist of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3, just as the PlayStation 3 version, released in February, did.

Some of the mini games will make use of the Vita’s touch screen but, for the most part, it’s a faithful reproduction of the original games. It’ll retail for €29.99, which we assume will translate to roughly £25 in the UK and they’re promising more news soon, including when you’ll be able to first get your hand on Jak and Daxter for Vita – which seems to hint at an early demo, perhaps.

  1. This is what am talking about, give the vita ps2 games & I will be happy

    • Really? I want new games, not PS Mobile games or old PS1/PS2 games :(

      • There is no ps2 game you would love on the vita? I do want new games but to fill the void I would welcome ps2 games

      • I can see why people do, but I’ve either got or played most of the PS2 games that I wanted to, when PS2 came out. I’m just worried that the Vita is gonna end up being a glorified iPhone-console for iOS type games (which isn’t why I bought one), or just to run old PS1/PS2 games. As it is Limbo was highlighted as one of the games to look forward to this year – but again this is another re-release of something I have already played. Where are the Gravity Rush type games? I’ve only got Killzone and Tearaway on my radar at the moment.

    • I agree, I’ll probably get one for the FFX re-release.

The idea of being able to play my past favourite games on the go is just golden, cross platform saved games would make it even more appealing. It would mean no more boring breaks at work.

  2. Great news. Did not play any of the Jak and Daxte games, so I was looking forward to buying the trilogy, but as it comes out on PSV I might consider buying the portable version.

  3. Cool, hopefully they’ll be available individually as i’m really only interested in the first game.

  4. Never played J&D before, so this is good. But have they really managed to fit all three games on one cartridge? Isn’t 4GB still the maximum, or have Sony been brilliant and upped it?

    • Maybe Digi only?

Or maybe 3 carts or bigger cart. I mean 4gb is hardly large and can’t be hard to make bigger versions.

  5. Nice one. I loved the first and second one back in the day. If the price is right I’ll give them a go.

  6. The PSBLOG (US) Says they will come with full and SEPARATE trophy lists so you might want to update that (:

  7. Cool. I only ever played the first game so I’ll definitely be picking this up when released.
I agree with Youles though. I’d much rather hear about ‘brand spanking new’ games being released on the Vita & not just re-releases or ps mobile type games.
