Check Out Oliver and Spike: Dimension Jumpers

The trailer above is for Oliver and Spike: Dimension Jumpers. It’s a game, created with Unity (so relatively easily ported to any PlayStation platforms, Wii U, etc.), in which you jump between one of at least three alternate dimensions in each level.

Apparently, there are more types of dimension later but the three shown in the ten minute video below (from Gamereactor via GAF) amply demonstrate the kind of differences that the shifting physics will make to gameplay. Aqua dimension to swim up for verticality, Ferma dimension to leap large gaps and Terra dimension for normal exploration.

The developers, Rock Pocket Games, wants to bring the game to all consoles and PC but it isn’t signed yet and they’re hoping to secure some extra funding to finish off development so there’s an obvious opportunity for platform exclusivity there.

They say that the game is inspired by a curious mix of Uncharted, Zelda and Ratchet & Clank. It will have some optional cooperative areas, boss fights and seems to feature a gem-collection mechanic, as well as dialogue options.

  1. Looks smart, I like it!

  2. Has a passing resemblence to Quantum Theory, which is a good thing.

  3. Damn, that looks nice. The visuals are so beautifully clear, saturated and stylish. More of this, please. :-)

  4. I thought it was Spike from the Ape Escape games LoL:D Shame we never got a Ape Escape(NORMAL, not PS-Move game) game this gen :( Looks cool this game tho;)
