Domains Registered For Halo Spartan Assault

E3 is now only 9 days away and it’s there we should get answers for what exactly the next generation of consoles will have for us. Microsoft will be there in force to show off the Xbox One and the games that will launch with it.

In fact, according to recent statements, their whole conference will be about the games. They mentioned in the Xbox One reveal that there would be a number of exclusives. Forza 5 was one of them and now it appears Halo: Spartan Assault could be another.

Domains of that title have been spotted by Fusible  including HaloSpartanAssault.com. What we don’t know is what exactly the title refers to but there are three major possibilities as to what Spartan Assault could be.

First, this could be the title of Spielberg’s Live Action Halo series. There was a brief mention of it at the reveal but a name wasn’t forthcoming. Or this could be a Halo game where there are two possibilities. Spartan Assault could be Halo: Spartan Assault, a spin off title much like Halo 3: ODST or Halo Reach. Or Spartan Assault could be Halo 5, though the main line Halo titles don’t usually have subtitled names, aside from the first – Combat Evolved.

It’s very likely that Microsoft will show the next Halo game at E3. It’s the company’s biggest exclusive and one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world. Given their affirmation that there will be plenty of game talk in Los Angeles next week, and given the importance of Halo to the console’s existing core user base, we’d be surprised if there wasn’t significant time given over the the franchise.

  1. I think this sounds like a gamemode of sorts. Similar to Halo 4s Spartan Ops.

  2. Halo has been annualised, with major title one year and that a sort of expansion title the next year. This would probably be something to Spartan Ops mode on Halo 4 but extended and will come with new maps for Halo 4.

  3. I’ve never been a fan of the Halo series but i expect a next-gen entry would look fairly impressive and an E3 reveal would certainly bring some cheer to the recently shell-shocked xbox nation.

Whatever games and spectacle Microsoft bring to E3 next week, it may all be a bit tainted unless they can satisfactorily address the issues of used games, ‘always on’ and always Kinect-ed.

  4. Halo is really having its udders milked.

  5. As others have said, its likely to be a spin-off to keep people busy until Halo5. Doubt I will get it but If its handled by 343 again i’m sure it will be pretty good :-)

  6. I’ll buy an X1 if they guarantee that MasterChief walks out across the baron wastelands and shouts “THIS IS SPARTAN!”.
