Disney and Harmonix Working On Kinect Fantasia Game

Disney have partnered with Harmonix – the developer behind Dance Central and Rock Band – to bring a new Fantasia experience (dubbed Music Evolved) to both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, using Kinect features. It looks like a modern dance-rhythm game with a very loose attachment to Fantasia.

Still, it could be fun; you play the new Sorcerer’s apprentice and can transform objects by reaching towards the screen. There are over 25 songs, including Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and tracks from more modern acts such as Bruno Mars and Avicii.

Despite the odd trailer to the right that doesn’t really show the game in any way, rather people dancing around and firing splodges of paint from their limbs, the screenshots below show a more fantastical setting – presumably what you’ll be seeing on the screen as you play.

We’ll need to see some actual gameplay before we’re sold on this one – there are definitely some mixed messages right now.

  1. Can see my Wife buying this day one. She loves Fantasia.
If it makes justifying the X1 to her a little easier I’m all for it ;-)

  2. What just happened to my eyes?

This is like a MS conference, only slightly less shit, but just as confusing.

    BRUNO MARS
    Fun.
    QUEEN
    AVICII
    KIMBRA

WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH FANTASIA?

Can someone please confirm for me that this is basically PixelJunk 4am, but with ‘dancing’ which basically takes aways your creative freedom?

  3. Sounds like Star Wars Kinect all over again….

The Xbox One trainwreck just gets even more hilarious by the day., I have almost ran out of popcorn…
