Sony Pushes Indie Hard, Releases Big Pile Of Trailers

Sony is currently courting plenty of indie developers for its PS Vita platform, but it’s also pushing the angle hard on PS4, too, as evidenced by the simultaneous showing of a good few indie games during its pre-E3 press conference.

As if to reconfirm this, Sony has published a healthy chunk of indie game videos onto its YouTube channel [via] featuring games across all its platforms, some of which we’ve replicated below.

So whilst the PlayStation 4 will naturally play host to lots of top tier AAA titles (even if they’re not all currently running at their best) it’ll also double up as a machine with plenty of smaller titles, which is wonderful news.

Here are some highlights:

1001 Spikes

Dragon Fantasy Book II

ibb & obb

Stick it To the Man

Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD!

Doki Doki Universe

Secret Ponchos

Ray’s the Dead

Octodad Dadliest Catch

Mercenary Kings

Don’t Starve

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee New N’ Tasty

We got hands on with a few of these at E3 this week and chatted to some of the indie developers circling Sony’s massive booth. We’ll have a more detailed look at those games in the coming days, but it’s safe to say we were impressed.

  1. Sony seems to be doing everything right to get gamers on their side. Played some great indie games on PS3 & Vita, there seems to be more good ones on their way to all three consoles.

  2. Bloody hell. That’s a fair old list.

“…even if they’re not all currently running at their best” – Well… the console isn’t actually out yet! :-P

  3. The Sony of today has vastly improved from the Sony of 12 months ago and they seem to be getting better and better. Long may it continue. :)

  4. Outlast looks brilliant, as do a lot of the others

  5. omg ibb&obb blew me away.
