News Snatch: Saints Row IV, Battlefield 4 And The Bureau: XCOM Declassified

Johnny Gat returns for Saints Row IV and there is a new trailer just for him which begins, as you might expect for Saints Row, with Johnny completely naked.

Patch Snatch: Zone Of Enders has been patched and now runs at 60FPS with additional particle effects and aliasing.

“Killed by a video game: Excitement ‘triggered fatal heart attack of teenager who died while playing his Xbox” exclaims the Daily Mail, interspersing pictures of family with an orginal Xbox.

“Jake Gallagher, 16, collapsed while playing his favourite video game” is the first bullet point, “Revived by paramedics but died after spending two days on life support” is the second and it is not until point three we get to the real story, “Teenager found to have had Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.”

A sad story once again twisted in to an attack on video games by the Daily Mail.

PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD will be available on PlayStation Store on 31st July, priced at £9.99/€12.99 and is described as “the definitive edition of Monsters!”

Can you guess what this is? Think back to E3 to the Call Of Duty Ghosts reveal during which Infinity Ward proudly announced that the Xbox One allowed them to include “Fish AI” which meant the pesky piscines swam out of the way of the player.

It appears some mischevious Battlefield 4 fans have created the dog tag above and are campaigning for it to be included in the full game, the scamps!

THQ is no more, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Mary F. Walrath has confirmed that the company “has met the burden of establishing that the plan should be approved.”

Those making claims to the company look likely to receive only a small amount, unsecured creditors are projected to recover 20 percent to 52 percent with the claims estimated between $143 million to $184 million.

Just in case parents have some loose change rattling around after purchasing every possible Skylander for their darling children you can now buy Skylanders Monopoly.

The latest addition to the franchise allows fans to buy, sell and trade “fun locations” based on 22 favourite Skylanders characters and each of the colour sections on the game board correspond to one of the 8 elements from the Skylanders world.

Staying with cutsey characters, Pokémon Rumble U will land on the European eShop on 15th August. However, the dinky plastic toys that interface with the game will not be available at launch.

“We’re still working through the plans for the small number of figurines we plan to release,” Nintendo told Eurogamer, “and will update people in due course.”

Kingdom Hearts series director and creator, Tetsuya Nomuram was asked why there was such a long period of time between the release of Kingdom Hearts II and the announcement of its successor.

“We couldn’t start preparing for Kingdom Hearts III for a while – for a long time – because… well, because of some reasons, basically,” he said.

Well thanks for clearing that up.

And Finally, a new trailer for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.

  1. That’s a fantastic little dog tag. They HAVE to have it in BF4. Can’t think of a better little dig they could have.

  2. And to unlock the dog tag all you need to do is drop a grenade in the water. That will definitely clear those pesky fish.

  3. whether or not the kid had Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome, its still completely plausible that his gaming triggered his arrhythmia. Theres been many a BF Bad Company 2 nights where my ass kicking started my heart pumping a little faster than it should.
Theres been a few people that have died from thrombosis (blood clots forming in the legs from sitting for extended periods) while playing games for marathon sessions as well.

I’d have to imagine the Kingdom Hearts delay is from the Disney side of things. I know they can be one of the toughest companies to work with when youre trying to licences their IP.

They Skylanders Monopoly looks pretty cool. I have no interest in Skylanders, but I love the idea of linking a board game with a video game, as most video games based on board games loose their charm. I’d pay a ridiculous amount of money for an interactive chess board to hook up to my PS3.

    • After some quick google-ing I’ve realized that the Skylanders Monopoly is just a board game based on Skylanders. completely disappointing, as I thought it was a board game- video game hybrid that uses the Skylanders tech to play Monopoly on your console by moving pieces around a real board. “Oh well, a man can dream… a man can dream”

    • I think the KH3 delay comes from SE shuffling around FFXV as much as they did.

  4. “It appears some mischevious Battlefield 4 fans have created the dog tag above and are campaigning for it to be included in the full game, the scamps!”

    Shouldn’t that read “the scampis!”?

I’ll get my coat, it’s the one with Captain Birdseye written on the label…
