F1 2013 Releasing October 4th

Codies could have just given us the release date, way back when F1 2013 was announced 11 days ago, but instead they held onto this nugget of information a little while longer, to coincide with the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend. So, are you ready?

F1 2013 is releasing on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on the 4th of October this year. Actually, I guess that’s slightly notable, in that it’s the first time that this current batch of F1 titles has released outside of September.

Interestingly, the press release also reveals that Anthony Davidson is acting as a Technical Consultant on the game, which should certainly help to get the car handling to a place where it’s not quite as divisive as it has been in the past.

Edit: Actually it turns out that this is a role he has had over the the last few years, as pointed out in the comments below. It was news to me, anyway!

He also narrates, as another hot lap video has been released, depicting Daniel Ricciardo on the very edge, as he zips around the Hungaroring circuit in his Toro Rosso. Fingers crossed the next footage they show includes some of the classic 80s and 90s cars they announced!

  1. Wasn’t Anthony Davidson involved in the last 2 games?

    • Yeah, he was and advisor at least.

      • Ah, it was the first I’d heard of it. I’ll update the post now.

  2. Not that long to wait.
I’ve been hoping they would include classic cars and tracks since the first game in the series.

  3. I’d love the game to release closer to the actual F1 season schedule, so we could run the tournament alongside using the same race tracks….never happen but it’d be cool. Looking forward to this one though, the car handling definately looks tweaked for the better, judging by the various videos.

  4. Excellent, holiday request submission to be had on Monday!
