Rayman Legends Will Be Releasing On PS4 & Xbox One

Rayman makes the leap.

Ubisoft has confirmed that Rayman Legends will be making the cross generational jump and releasing on PS4 and Xbox One in February 2014. The announcement was made during an earnings call by the publisher’s CEO, Yves Guillemot.

Details weren’t given on what changes or additions, if any, will be made to the game, or if there will be an upgrade plan for current gen owners. However it is a nice surprise addition to the list of games available for the next gen. Meanwhile a patch for the Vita version of the game is still in the works to add missing content.

  1. I’ve got this on Vita and was thinking about getting it for ps3 but I think I’ll hold off for Ps4 version. Not for any other reason other than I want PES and GTA V to be my lady purchases for Ps3. It’sa very good game and I want to play MP with the kids. It’ll be fun.

  2. Didn’t get this on Vita… So now I can nab it on PS4 and remote play… Perfect!

  3. Thought it was dreadful on vita, I didn’t get it at all. Had no idea what was going on or what I was supposed to be doing, no explanation at all.

    • It’s a 2D platformer. It’s not that hard. You run from one side of the screen to the other and jump and punch a little. :P

  4. Be interesting to see if they implement the touchscreen sections if you’re using the Vita as a pad for it, or whether the Dualshock 4 will be able to do something with the touchpad.

Either way, it’s quite clear that they’re trying to make up the extra revenue that they failed to make from its initial launch, which makes sense!

  5. Will probably not double dip this time. I enjoyed it on the PS3 but not as much as Origins. The levels weren’t as inspired as they were in Origins and the Murphy levels got old really fast.
The fact that getting the platinum trophy requires excessive challenge grinding was also a real shame. I 100%ed every level in the game except a few of the Back to Origins levels. I platinumed Origins twice so playing those levels a third time wasn’t that exciting anymore.
Hopefully the next game in the series is less focused on Wii U gimmick mechanics.

    • Hopefully its 3D, Sadly I think thats far how Rayman can go for 2D platforming.

      • Before Legends I was very much against the idea of another 3D Rayman because Origins was so amazing. Now I’d be open to a new 3D Rayman.
I just hope they can still utilize the Ubi Art engine. I love the art style (Origins > Legends because of the 3Dish models).
