Warner Bros. Won’t Be Fixing Arkham Origins Bugs, Creating DLC Instead

Nothing like a good scandal to start Monday off and this week’s comes courtesy of Warner Brothers, specifically the Arkham Community Manager on the official WB Games forums.

A number of players asked if game breaking bugs were to be fixed in the near future and this was the response:

The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.

So just to be clear, Warner Bros are saying thatthe “progression blocking bugs” that stop you from playing the game may not be fixed until after the next batch of paid-for DLC, and any other glitches will not be patched at all.

It makes a nice change for a developer  to be honest and upfront but this probably was not the news purchasers of Batman: Arkham Origins were hoping for.

  1. This is appalling!
I cannot believe they are moving onto DLC and ignoring all bugs. I kept pushing myself to play this endless broken MP and a dead lobby waiting for hours to get all the MP trophies.
We also tried to create a TSA meet for this and it collapsed!
I don’t know whether if I should buy Blackgate (Vita) or avoid it as they do not deserve to get my money if it isn’t fixed!!!

  2. I was intending to buy this game when it was relatively bug-free, after hearing all the horror stories upon release. I suppose I won’t be playing this one.

I’m sure all the programmers involved will be very ashamed of this. Nobody wants a broken game on their CV. No doubt a corporate decision.
