News Snatch: inFamous Second Son, There Came An Echo And The Rumour Mill

rumourmill

The Rumour Mill and its adjacent bakery, Loaves of Truth, date back to the 18th century and are located in Upper Twentwhistle in Yorkshire. For hundreds of years items of scandalous gossip have been feed in to the large stones and ground in to the probable truth and now TSA has exclusive access to the ancient machinery, let’s give it a spin!

Rumour: Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PS4, a Portuguese store has listed the game with a badly photoshoped box. “We have the information that Worten will sell the game in question,” explained the store.

The Mill’s Verdict: A large, crusty white Bloomer with poppy seeds. Which means this is true.

Rumour: Timesplitters 4 is also coming to PS4 and will be a console exclusive, this is a new game not Timesplitters Rewind, a fan made sequel created with Crytek’s blessing.

The Mill’s Verdict: Eccles Cakes. We think this means the rumour is a load of dead flies encased in nasty pastry, and not true.

Rumour: Sony are working on The Uncharted Collection for PS4 which will contain shinier versions of Uncharted Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2 Among Thieves, Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception, Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Uncharted: Fight for Fortune

The Mill’s Verdict: Cheese and Ham toasty. We think the cheese represents an untruth, an upscaled Vita title is not going to look good on PS4, whereas the ham represents a glimmer of positivity. We have had a God of War collection with PSP titles for PS3, no reason why Sony will not do the same for Uncharted on PS3.

Rumour: The Mass Effect Trilogy is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Mill’s Verdict: A delicious Cream Horn. Bioware have discussed the possibility internally, but no plans have been made.

Will Wheaton is to star (trek – ahahah!) in a new voice-controlled real-time squad tactics game for Xbox One and PC game.

The game, There Came an Echo, features hand-drawn isometric maps and you can create your own voice commands to direct the characters. Rather than shout “hold position” you could yell “be a statue” or if you wish to invade an area you could just shout “For the glory of Putin!”

Developers Iridium would like to point out “Almost literally nothing in the video is even close to final… except the models, maybe? Dialogue, voiceover, animation, art, sound effects, UI… all will undergo significant improvements before release. The video does not contain any advanced strategy… it’s meant to represent very basic movement, gameplay, and combat.”

Another trailer for inFamous Second Son which looks pretty much identical to last trailer, minus the quotes.

Sadly not minus the stupid hat.

There will be two options for the 24GB digital release of the game at midnight on release day, just the game itself or the Legacy Edition. This contains Cole’s Legacy DLC, as well as the exclusive designed jackets for Delsin to wear-in game.

Jacket DLC, but not hat DLC. Where will this madness end?

A new trailer for Ultra Street Fighter IV which introduces Select Mode. Players can duke it out across history using their favourite version of any character, complete with their original balance. Exciting!

Much loved Vita game, OlliOlli, is getting a PC release.

Candy Crush Saga publishers, King, have confirmed the abandonment of the trademark ‘Candy’ in the United States. There was a lot of internet outrage when they tried to shut down many games that included the word.

Meanwhile PopCap have confirmed Peggle 2 will be landing on other formats along with something brand new for consoles.

“We’re working on Peggle 2, and we’re working on updates for Peggle 2 and looking at bringing that to other platforms in future, and new IP as well. So expect to see a lot more from PopCap HD coming forward,” Franchise marketing manager Gary Clay told Digital Spy.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale – remember that? – is getting a balance patch for the Zeus & Isaac costumes.

We have dedicated resources on this balance patch right now, and I will share more specific notes with you just as soon as I can. Design and Testing is still in the middle stages, so we’re not on the cusp of an immediete release

Have you got the same confused expression I have? Why is the game getting any attention, it’s ages old and didn’t sell very well. Methinks it may be coming to PS+ on Vita sometime in the future, hence the patch.

Did we know Puddle is coming to PS4? Well it is.

“I’m just surprised no one has yet to find some of the secrets we have dropped around the internet,” said Naughty Dog web developer Jason Paul.

Don’t get your hopes up, these are all for The Last of Us and not Uncharted 4.

There is rather a lot of grumbling going on from the people behind Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. An unnamed member of the development team has named studio director Enric Alvarez as being “mean,” with “serious problems.”

“Absolutely every design idea has to be monitored, taken away and mutilated by Enric Álvarez. Several game designers have grown tired of this and have abandoned the studio,” said the mystery employee.

“His distrust to his own workers is enormous. Most of the development team often found out features of the game through press news, rather than from the studio’s head – unbelievable. And there is no corporate culture here at all… this is just a handful of people working blindly and at the disposal of an alleged visionary.”

The disgruntled chap/chapess explained that Álvarez ego had grown to the point where staff did not dare “to say ‘hello’ when you meet him in the hallway.”

Has Enric Álvarez got a bit of an attitude problem? Well decide for yourself, he has given an interview in which he attacked the reviews of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, particularly the one that appeared in Edge.

“One must be blind or stupid to give it a 4/10 for a game of this quality. With a 4/10, people interpret it is a crappy game, badly done, it breaks, with mechanics that do not work, with some awful graphics,” he said.

He also criticised reviewers for reviewers of “a lack of honesty” and “professionalism” but did admit “there are very good people writing about video games.”

And Finally, on a lighter note,  Cloud goes to the shops.

  1. Loving the Rumour Mill. More, please! :-)

  2. Great read, more from the bakery of delicious lies pls, in fact just make the stuff up, the internets has been doing it for years anyway.

  3. A great read.

  4. Doesn’t sound like Peggle 2 is coming to PS4 very soon .. *sulks*

  5. Well for a God of War Clone I think LoS deserves the low scores and scrutiny from Castlevania fans. So I’m Glad Lords of Shadows is done with hopefully Konami makes a new 2D game or give it to a better developer more fitting to make a good 3D Castlevania game.

  6. You should see all the stupid hats avatars are donning on NeoGaf.

Mass Effect and Uncharted Trilogy… I’ll want to play them again, but they’ll render my current copies useless. Would be interested to see if they’d be fairly straightforward ports or “Definitive” editions. Mass Effect could do with some enhanced AI and movement controls… Even just a jump/vault button.

  7. I really like TC’s new Mill, but I must admit that I prefer TC’s Snatch.

Yes, I too was bemused at the Sony-All-Stars-Battle-Royale-Flop-Game receiving a patch.

  8. You’ve got to be right about PSASBR, no way would they bother fixing such a flop unless they new they’d be getting a load of new players.

    • I hope it is coming to PS+, I held off getting it but do fancy taking it for a spin.

  9. Ha ha! Funny stuff! :-)

  10. Blimey nice comments, what is wrong with you lot? :P
