Play As Ripley In The Alien: Isolation Nostromo Edition

Alien: Isolation is one of the most anticipated titles for gamers this year but many have dreamed for a game based on the original Alien film, and thanks to The Creative Assembly that dream is about fulfilled.

Alien: Isolation Nostromo Edition reunites almost the entire cast of the original film with Sigourney Weaver (Ripley), Tom Skerritt (Dallas), Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (Brett), and Yaphet Kotto (Parker) reprising their roles, with only Ian Holm being replaced by an voice actor. As you can see from the image below, the characters likeness have also been faithfully reproduced.

The first mission, Crew Expendable, is set just after Brett has been killed and you play as Ripley, Dallas, or Parker and try and coax the acidic fiend out from an air lock. The second mission, Last Survivor, is set right at the end of the film and finds Ripley in a race to reach the air lock before the Nostromo self-destructs, presumably picking up Jones the cat on the way.

Want some more good news? Anyone who pre-orders the game in the UK will be upgraded for free to the Nostromo Edition which includes the Crew Expendable mission. The Last Survivor will be a pre-order bonus at select retailers which have yet to be announced.

  1. Ok thats quite cool. Still a bit concerned re: the game’s re-playability so I doubt I will buy it day one but it certainly looks great

    • It’s about 15 hours long. That’s longer than most single player games.

      • True but I doubt there will be much reason to replay it at a later point. I don’t mind coughing £40 out for a game I know I will play over and over, but something like this seems like an ideal rental.

  2. Oh look, pre order bonuses. Fantastic

    • Yeah but really bloody good ones :)

      • I think the point is, this should be part of the main game already rather than a bonus that’s been cutaway, like an extra costume or new weapon.

  3. That’s HUGE. Park your cynicism and dislike of pre-order bonuses and DLC, if CA can do this justice then this will be incredible.

Alien is one of my all-time favourite films, and if they can capture the tension from the middle of the film then it will be amazing. Surprised they got the original cast back together after 30 years.

Pre-ordered from Amazon back in February, so hopefully should get the upgrade.

  4. My Nostromo has just arrived. Excited.
