Mortal Kombat X Gameplay Trailer Shows Raiden’s Electrifying Moves

At EVO 2014 Ed Boon took to the stage after the finals for the Injustice tournament to reveal a new character for Mortal Kombat X, and here we see the return of the thunder god Raiden. The trailer pits him against Kotal Khan in a rather bloody and shocking fight full of broken bones, and face stabbings, but focuses mainly on the different styles of play you’ll have access to while controlling Raiden.

There’s the Displacer style allows Raiden to teleport all over the place, throwing various punches and kicks in quick succession, which in turn leaves very little time for the opponent to counter. You have the Thunder God role too where Raiden can create a myriad of lightning based attacks, again allowing fast movement, for a number of electrocution combos. Finally there is Storm Lord Raiden, where traps can be created on the stage that can stop an opponent in their tracks.

The gameplay is looking really solid for Mortal Kombat X, with the attacks looking very weighty. The game will be out next year on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
