Speakeasy Bringing One Punch Fights To PS4

A new fighting game is coming to PS4 in the form of Speakeasy, which is set in 1920’s USA, and one that focuses on local multiplayer. The game has a bit of a twist to it, in that it only takes one hit to beat your opponent. As a result Speakeasy appears to be a bit like a rock, paper, scissors type of game. Each player has three moves to use per match, including punch, block, and fake. To beat your opponent you have to land that punch, so if you try it first and they block then you’re going to have to try and avoid that attack.

There are various modes including Tag Team and King Of The Hill, as well as a tournament mode for up to 16 players. As you go through the fights you’ll unlock new items, props, and costumes to customise fighters with. There’s no release date as of yet.

  1. Um… doesn’t that sort of make it a Rolling Dice Simulator, somewhat?

    • Yeah, pretty much – It also means that matches could be over in the blink of an eye with literally no skill involved.

Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen…
