Grand Theft Auto V for the new generation is out today, and no doubt a lot of people will be picking it up to visit an improved Los Santos. Some players will be jumping right on to GTA Online, which allows players to transfer their character from the previous generation. However, there seems to be an issue with the transfer between last generation and new generation if you haven’t played GTA Online since 2013. The issue has been highlighted by Rockstar, and the developer is working on it.
Question: I haven’t played GTA Online since 2013. When I try to transfer to PS4 or Xbox One, it says “No previous Grand theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account.” I then tried to go back and play GTA Online on PS3 or Xbox 360 to verify, but it says the Rockstar services are unavailable. Help!
Answer: We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013…Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience.
If you are one of those players facing this transfer problem then it might be an idea to not go online yet, otherwise you’ll have to create an entirely new character and lose that progress. Hopefully we’ll get an update soon about a fix.
