PlayStation Store Update: 10/12/14 – Destiny DLC, Lara Croft & More

The store updates keep on coming, although they’ll be dying down as Christmas edges closer, and then they’ll pick up again in January. Perhaps the biggest release this week comes in the form of Destiny’s first DLC expansion, The Dark Below.

Lara Croft also makes her way to PS4 with Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris – not Rise of the Tomb Raider unfortunately, as that’s an Xbox exclusive and is a year away. Still, at least there’s 10% off for PS Plus subscribers, as well as free Hitman DLC if you purchase it this week. If you’re feeling rich, you could always splash out £70 on the digital Gold edition of The Crew.

  1. Sweet, nothing for me! Might check out the new TLOU guns.

  2. It’s more expensive to buy Lara & season pass as a bundle than separately?!

    • Good spot!

    • I’m going to assume the bundle includes that extra DLC, or is that part of the season pass? See, this is why games should be sold as a complete package. It all get’s too confusing for my tastes.

      • No, the price is wrong. On the store it’s £14.99 and £19.99. So £5 more for the bundle and £7.99 for the season pass. (And a 10% PS+ discount on the game or bundle, but not the season pass)

  3. I would recommend people to try out FF14. You could always get the PS3 version dirt cheap at like £5 or less then get the free upgrade for PS4 which is extended until next year. Definitely the best FF in recent years and looks a lot better than Elder Scrolls online.

Should also let you know that when I have renewed my membership for 2 months I get an extra for free.

    • Agreed, I love it!

    • Nice recommendation. Always been meaning to try it out on PS3 as it is dirt cheap.

  4. You would possibly think that DLC is the one thing most likely to have similar prices in the US and the UK. But apparently not.

£19.99 for the STRANGELY ALL IN CAPITALS DESTINY EXPANSION here, or $19.99 in the US. Convert that US price into real money, add VAT and it’s 30% more expensive here. And by the sounds of things, about twice the price it should be for the amount of content anyway.

  5. Does anybody know if you have to buy the full game once the Final Fantasy Xyz has ended? Or do you just pay the subscription to continue? Either way it’s a game I’ve been wanting to try for ages.

    • Obviously that should read Final Fantasy XIV. I don’t know what my phone is trying to do there….

      • Looks like it is looking into the future.

Surely ‘Final Fantasy XYZ’ would have to be the last in the series, no? ;)

      • No Forrest, you’re forgetting Final Fantasy MMXXXIII.

  6. Bought Lara season pass version, great value I thought compared to spesh edition retail copy which is basically an install with disc read code… plus Lara doll ;)
