The 100 best selling games in the UK of 2014Â have been announced, well at least games that had a physical edition release. That means digital only titles aren’t represented, and also digital sales data. If they were I bet we’d be looking at rather different set of rankings than what we have now. In this category though FIFA 15 was the best selling game of 2014, while Advanced Warfare was second and GTA V was third. Destiny was the biggest new IP while Watch Dogs followed.
In terms of new gen exclusives Assassin’s Creed: Unity was the best performer charting at 10th, with Driveclub coming second in that race charting at 19th. Halo: The Master Chief Collection didn’t get into the top 20, coming 27th, while games like Alien: Isolation and Dragon Age: Inquistion failed to place in the top 30. Pro Evolution Soccer 15 didn’t even get in the top half, entering way down at 73. Naughty Dog’s Last Of Us charted twice, with the Remastered edition placing 24th, while the PS3 version ended 97th.

Numerically, the first game that I’m surprised by is The Evil Within – sold rather well. Not that I expected it to do badly, I like the game.
I have 25 of those 100, boxed versions too.

Driveclub despite not charting in top spot sold more than what TLOU did and that toppedthe charts for a couple of weeks. Outside the top 10, its actually quite balanced.

I’m surprised Driveclub ended up a couple of places above Forza horizon 2. Both are good games but after the start Driveclub had is thought it would do far worse.

Plus the fact these are the physical sales.
Apparently 70% of the DriveClub sales were downloads but I’m guessing this was before most of the bundles went on sale along with the Black Friday offers.
