News Snatch: Godzilla, The Elder Scrolls Online And Britney Spears

Greetings one and all, and welcome to the feature that is the Labour party of TSA, full of exciting news that was destined to become a front page star but ultimately failed miserably and got shoved in this catch up post which nobody reads, if the comments are anything to go by.

So then, on to the first of today’s candidates, a video for The Elder Scrolls Online which shows the “freedom to forge your own path and the countless choices you’ll face.”

FIFA 15 is now in the EA Access vault. So, erm, play it if you like that sort of thing and haven’t already bought it and own an Xbox One.

This is Trish, she likes walks in the park, cookery and slaying demons. She’s looking for a tall, strong man and hopes to have a large family once she’s finished kicking butt in Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition.

505 Publishing have nabbed the rights for Overkill’s The Walking Dead game. The title, slated for release in 2016, is a co-op shooter with some heavy influence from the Payday series.

A new trailer for Godzilla, which still looks a bit rubbish but pretty much everyone at TSA is hoping it’s going to be brilliant.

The team behind the wildly successful Kim Kardashian: Hollywood iOS game have announced they have licensed none other than Ms. Britney Spears for their next game.

“I am thrilled to add Grammy Award-winning legend Britney Spears to Glu’s growing list of partners, as we continue to expand our celebrity gaming platform,” said Glu chairman and CEO Niccolo de Masi. “We anticipate the title resonating tremendously with Ms Spears’s nearly 90 million multi-generational social followers around the world.”

If you have not played the Kardashian game let me explain the premise. You are a budding starlet and must make your way to the “top” by giving multi-millionaire talent vacuum Kim Kardashian free clothes (see picture above) and of course, in-app purchases.

I know parents are worried about the violence in GTA but they should be more worried about what games such as these are teaching their children. Hopefully Ms. Spears will have a little more thought and input when creating her game. Don’t let me down, Britters.

A new trailer for Caffeine which was recently announced for consoles. In a further update the developer has revealed the game will now be split in to three episodes, rather than one single game.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a VR co-op bomb diffusal game coming to Project Morpheus. One person wears the VR headset and can interact with the bomb, whilst the other cannot see what is going on but has the instructions.

“[The PS4 version is] a bit of a challenge for us,” explained designer Allen Pestaluky. “We’re definitely going to play around with the idea of the manual being available on the TV, so if we can have the bomb inside VR and then the manual on the TV that people can browse – maybe with the Move controller or something like that – that’s an option.”

And Finally, who would you put in a line up called the “Legends of Gaming”? Molyneux, Braben, and Levine perhaps? Jade Redmond and Michael Ancel, ex-Ubisoft employees maybe?

How about Ashley Mariee, Ali-A and Twiinsane? Nope, me neither, but these YouTube stars are apparently Legends of Gaming and you can now pay £22 for a five hour session in which you can watch them play games live on stage at Alexandra Palace in London.

For the bargain price of £130 you could get the VIP package which includes free tea and coffee, a cloakroom and the opportunity to meet and greet selected YouTubers.

FYI, a couple of years ago I spent £200 on a meet and greet with Madonna. Say what you like about her but she’s done more than play a few video games to warrant the fee.

  1. I hope that legends of gaming thing bombs. Hard.

And I’d probably use EA access if the Xbox was my only console. In fact I attempted to give it a try for a few months but it wouldn’t let me pay using the credit in my Microsoft account.

  2. So tell me a little more about this Trish. Has she got an email address or tel number? In fact, she kind of reminds me of one of my ex’s.

    • Well, she was created by the Demon Emperor and is into using yellow lightning to throw you backwards. She loves throwing motorbikes at you after crashing it through your office and spends her spare time killing demons, eating pizza and doing her own thing. Oh and her friend is a legendary dark knight, no, not the goddamn bat but the son of Sparda. He kinda turns into an unstoppable force if you harm her. A

      • Sweet! For some daft reason, that’s exactly the type I go for. ;)

  3. Britney probably doesn’t even know anything about the game. If you asked her about it she’d be like, huh? Metal-gear-guard style. It’s her ‘people’ running the show. And if there’s money to be made you can be damn sure they’ll take it.

  4. The Godzilla game is interestingly similar to the film; nobody’s expecting it to be very good but hopefully it’ll be some silly fun and at least have some big monsters fighting.

There’s no way it can show less of Godzilla than the latest film either, so that can only be a good thing.

  5. After staggering levels of disillusionment with Rift, Star Wars: The Old Republic and World of Warcraft, Hannypoppie (my significant other) and I will be giving Elder Scrolls Online another go. It felt far more personable and less MMO-ee, if you know what I mean.

The other MMOs felt so uninvolved. :-(

  6. Another Caffeine video which achieved the desired result. Presuming that the desired result is for people to shrug their shoulders?

  7. If Godzillas half as good as the trailer it’ll be fking dreadful.

  8. That Morpheus game looks like a good laugh, but I bet it’s damn frustrating!

  9. Oh my god! It’s Godzilla! And it’s going to ***** suck. Why? because no-one cares enough to put effort into the King of Monsters. OH, i’ve not watched the trailer but it has barely been marketed, little to nothing about it’s gameplay and limited modes. How can you bleep up Godzilla? Set him on Tokyo, throw in his iconic enemies and find an excuse to have them fight.

So, let me get this straight, the most self centred woman on the net, who once claimed that she would break the internet by posting a nude picture of her bottom has a game where you give her free clothes to work to the top with microtransactions. Please tell me that is not a popular game and that it is something that could start a new trend. As for Spears, meh.
