Here’s a bit of a turn up for the books as 2K Games has confirmed that film director Spike Lee, who is behind things like Malcolm X, the Oldboy remake, and Do The Right Thing, will be creating the story for NBA 2K16’s MyCareer mode. Apparently the main character’s name is Frequency Vibrations, and this MyCareer will be all about him.

In previous NBA 2K MyCareer modes you create the character and choose the name. Yes there is a story but it is minimal with the main focus about progressing in the NBA and being the best player ever. It’s not the first time 2K has collaborated with someone on NBA. NBA 2K13’s soundtrack was compiled by Jay Z and 2K15’s by Pharrell Williams. A soundtrack is one thing while changing a very popular game mode may be met with some trepidation.
NBA 2K16’s cover stars were also revealed to be Stephen Curry, James Harden and Anthony Davis. The official release date is September 29th but those who pre-order the game will receive it on September 25th with 10,000 virtual currency, and a MyTeam VIP. NBA 2K16 will release on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

And in a few years time or a year after release, you will never get to play the mode again! Isn’t Online only DRM fantastic?
Note:I don’t actually know if this will use the same DRM as the previous game. If it does, prepare to be annoyed.
