Out This Week: Attack On Titan & LEGO Minifigures Online

Ok, we’ll just come out and say it. This week’s release schedule is looking slim, marking a dry start to every gamer’s July. Although there are a few midsummer launches in the mix, it’s likely many will use the time to put a dent in our backlogs while dreaming of the autumn bounty which lies in wait.

That, or play more Batman.

Launching yesterday we had Funcom’s LEGO Minifigures Online. This latest game from the acclaimed Norwegian studio isn’t such a huge departure from its previous work as it may sound. Although nowhere near as big as Age of Conan or The Secret World in terms of scope, Minifigures Online still showcases the dev’s penchant for hammering out a solid MMORPG.

Mirroring popular games like Diablo and Marvel Heroes, Minifigures will have player battling through dungeons and exploring social hubs while collecting experience and loot. What’s more, players can use codes included with physical collectible figures to unlock characters in the game across PC and Mac, as well as both iOS and Android.

In lieu of a PlayStation Plus update, we’re left with a cluster of digital releases including ghostly adventure game, Whispering Willows, as well as 2.5D platformer Red Goddess, Quiplash, and the tongue-twisting Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: V Generation.

It’s a similar story over at the Nintendo eShop with a few notable releases. These include the delayed release of LEGO Jurassic World along with Roving Rogue and a Virtual Console edition of Advance Wars 2 and Ocarina of Time. This week also sees the launch of the Attack on Titan’s 3DS tie-in dubbed “Shingeki no Kyojin: Humanity in Chains”.

So there it is. Will you be picking up one of this week’s new entries, or will you be diving into a game you’ve already got?

  1. I’m interested in Advance Wars and Attack on Titan. Not certain if I’ll be getting them right away though. I wish we got the GBA games on 3DS as well, I’d rather play them there.
