EA’s NBA Live series has kind of sat in the shadow of 2K’s NBA 2K series for a few years now, but it appears this time around EA wants to grab the attention of basketball fans. The publisher is aiming to do this with a multiplayer demo of NBA Live 16’s Pro Am mode, which will allow players to compete against each other online. The demo will be available from September 15th on PS4 & Xbox One.
There will be two modes available in Pro Am, and these are Live Run & Summer Circuit. Live Run is the competitive mode where two teams of five play against each other, while Summer Circuit has a team of five touring to take on AI teams across North America. You’ll be able to create your own player and success unlocks better gear as well as stats for you.
The venues included in the game are Hoop Dome, Seattle Pacific University, Brooklyn Park, Kezar Pavilion, Rucker Park, Venice Beach, and Terminal 23. As you can see by the video this a lot more like street basketball than stadium action.
