It might have started off as an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Super Mario, but Eurogamer’s talk with two of the creators of the venerable series, but then Miyamoto quite remarkably let slip about something completely different. Pikmin 4 is in development and it’s “very close to completion.”
Of course, Eurogamer made sure to double check this with Nintendo, who said that “We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present.”
In other words, we still know practically nothing about the game, except that it’s coming. Pikmin 3 arrived on the Wii U back in 2013, but with the NX console rumoured for a release next year, it’s plausible that Pikmin 4 would be aiming for the Wii U’s successor.
