Whilst the rest of the TSA team are, and I quote, “wandering aimlessly” around EGX this very moment, news reaches the heroic and stalwart staff left behind at TSA Towers (i.e. me), of a new gaming expo.
MCM Expo, organiser of the MCM Comic Cons are to launch the rather 80’s sounding GamerMania expo in London next year, between July 29th and 31st. That places it after E3, but before Gamescom, and presumably before EGX 2016 as well.
The event will take place at ExCeL  and will include a team up with eSports company, ESL, to “bring world-class eSports entertainment to London.” They event also promises “big gaming studios, PC Gaming, Indie Games, Retro, YouTube and streaming.”
There will also be an indie zone for the small studios to showcase their games and support for cosplayers.

I’m struggling to see the unique selling point for this show. It sounds the same as every other show. The good thing is that as it’s pencilled in for ExCel in London that should mean that EGX will again be outside of the M25, hurrah!

Are there any game expos up north? And maybe this one will exclusively feature Trackmania on show, new games and old, with tracks created by indie-an people and people who work for big gaming studios?

Gamer Mania? That is a cheesy name. I… don’t really know what to make of it. It’s good to have another expo but just after or after E3 may result in not many developers or publishers attending as they may prefer to focus on working on their games. That and GamerMania sounds like a gamer version of WWE’s Wrestlemania. Wait, does that mean Gamermania is in fact, Mortal Kombat? :O
