Sony Expanding eSports Territory With PlayStation Plus League

It appears Sony’s own eSport competition through PlayStation Plus League, which will be open to PS Plus subscribers, is expanding outside of the Spain and Portugal markets. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet but the French website for the platform is already live, with the first set of events set to start from Monday November 2nd. The games that are available to compete in include FIFA 16, PES 16, Project CARS, Rocket League, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Driveclub, Mortal Kombat X, Trials Fusion, and Battlefield Hardline.

There are various divisions for the games and individual placements will be determined by how well you do in the opening tournament. It also appears that players will have to submit proof of victory after rounds so standings can be updated. Tournaments will be carried out throughout the year, with different games likely to be added as the service grows. Sony will probably give more details about PlayStation Plus League at the conference later on this evening. The French site is also viewable in English, and there doesn’t seem to be any issues signing up either.
