Tokens in Forza games aren’t a new thing, allowing players to buy cars with real world cash. However, up until recently Forza Motorsport 6 did not have the ‘Tokens’ system activated but now players can spend real money to help unlock vehicles in the game. While prompts will appear to purchase the tokens these can be deactivated, though car prices will now be shown with both Credits and Tokens options.
According to TeamVVV the prices of the Token packs range from £2.29 for 325 Tokens to £64,99 for 20,000. Each token is worth 500 credits, and 4000 of them are required to unlock the most expensive car in Forza 6, the Ferrari 250 GTO. That roughly equates to £16 for that car in game. There shouldn’t be much surprise that these have been added, and they are entirely optional.

Are there cars that are completely locked out and can only be unlocked with the tokens?
That would be a problem.

No. All cars can be bought with credits, and it’s easy enough to earn credits and get all the cars you want. As example the Ferrari 250 GTO is the most expensive car at 2,000,000 credits, and something like Lotus’ 2015 F1 car is only 1,700,000. A couple of lucky prize spins and a couple of weeks of racing and you’d have around 3-4 Million.

I’m glad the notifications can be gotten rid, as I wouldn’t want them intruding on the core game.
It’s interesting they’ve gone at all with this ‘Tokens’ idea. It seems an extortionate scheme of charging high prices for little in return. Like £2.29 is really just for 150,000 credits, which amounts to sod all in the game. Quite why anyone would want to pay more than the price of them game for millions of credits is beyond me, but I guess there’s some money coming in from it somewhere otherwise they wouldn’t bother implementing it. I just hope the naive or less skilled racers don’t get pulled in by this crap.
Credits can be earned easily in the game, and prize spins give good opportunity for bonuses, so let that be that is what I say.

It really sucks that they’re doing this after saying that they’d only add microtransactions if fans started asking for it.
But at least we can turn the prompts off and hide any sign of them.

optional?
until they increase the prices in game and/or reduce the winnings.

Surely the week is up by now, has someone forgotten to set the un-ban button in place?
